Three days left. I will miss the boats like hell. And Nate. It is a parting like I have not felt in a very very long time.

The Captain brought this up a few days ago, to describe our last transit from Morro Bay to San Francisco, a trip when the bow plunged through the waves, and water ran over the foredeck and to the main deck like so many rapids. ( Read more... )

I had my off day today.. which meant Tijuana, Mexico with Cook Nate, and cheap beer and free tequila to boot :) It's bitter cold for San Diego, but to start the day off,  I climbed to the main royal yard on the Star of India, I guess about 100 feet from the deck. Talk about adrenaline rush.
